History
The survival stories behind two World War Two epics, as retold by Ray Mears.
`Real Heroes of Telemark' looks the logistics behind filming the true story of Hitlers atomic bomb programme. How did the extraordinary truth differ from the Hollywood blockbuster account, featuring interviews with survivors and re-enactment of key moments in the locations where they happened.
`Extreme Survival - Belarus' - tells the story (several years before the Daniel Craig movie `Defiance') of the Jewish partisan army that helped push the Germans out of Eastern Europe agains overwhelming odds and unimaginable atrocities.
Wildlife
From Albatross, with Carol Thatcher on the Falkland Islands, to the basics of survival on the parched African plains with Kate Humble and Simon King, via Shark predatory behavior worldwide, and teaching goldfish to play football!
Extreme Adventure -
Everest - Beyond the Limit - the story behind one of the most deadly climbing seasons on Everest, following an expedition across the Tibetan Plateau to climb the North Ridge, and the logistics needed to film all the way up to the summit and back.
Lost Worlds - to Guyana and Borneo with Monty Halls and Leo Houlding, on the trail of rare wildlife, unclimbed cliffs and hitherto uncharted waterfalls and cave systems.
Expedition Everest - to the far flung corners of Sichuan, in China, researching Yeti Myths, for a new ride at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Survival -
From One Extreme to Another -filming with Ray Mears, Bear Grylls, Chris Ryan, Monty Halls and Leo Houlding - from Siberia at -40, to over 100 degrees in the Australian Outback, taking in the steamy jungles of Honduras and Guyana, and the altitude of Mount Everest. Never mind the presenters, how do the film crews survive.
