In 2004 I made a taster with Chris Ryan, the SAS veteran and author of `The One That Got Away', with a view to getting a series with him off the ground.

This led to the comission of  a three part series called `Hunting Chris Ryan'.

 

We took Chris to three extreme locations (Siberia, Honduras and Botswana) and in each he had an SAS style mission to complete, while being trackjed and hunted by a force of former Special Forces froom the UK and the USA.

 

The series presented masssive logistical issues, keeping a crew of fifteen fed, watered and housed in the field.

 

The first programme, in Siberia, was the mosyt problematic - Chris went down with severe hypothermia and had to be rescued, it was so cold that the Hunter Force's (plastic replica!!) guns snapped, and somehow they managed to burn their accomodation, a wooden trapper's hut, to the ground. they were unable to rescue any kit from it because the roof space was full of ammunition, that went off around their heads as the fire caught hold!
