In a development that has played well to my many years of experience, I have recently been called upon at very short notice - sometimes as little as two days - to oversee a series of complex shoots in challenging environments and locations as diverse as the Canadian Arctic and South Africa.
Key requirements were being able to understand and master the brief, to understand shooting styles, to integrate myself into existing teams, to work on hazard forms and risk assesments and to manage the shoots in dynamic situations that required quick and clear thinking to stay on top of the brief.
Because I have significant experience at overseeing shoots of this nature as (often self-shooting) PD, I am keen to look for more opportunities to use my skillset to help productions which find themselves short of a producer/director for imminent shoots, and need someone who can step in confidently to take on all aspects of production, including risk assesment and shoot logistics and planning.
