ABOUT
Old Inn House has been in our family for 55 years. Until the early 1900s it was a village pub (The Carpenters' Arms) but since then it has been a family home. Today, it is a cozy bolt hole in the heart of a traditional North Devon hill village, just a couple of hundred yards from the new pub (The Grove).
Recently refurbished throughout, it offers sleeping for six in three rooms, along with two reception rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, off road parking and a cottage garden. Check out our welcome pack here.
`Beautiful old former inn in a very charming village -
spotlessly clean house
and very attractive
with period features etc.
Martin and Lorraine are
very conscientious, friendly and organised hosts.'
Accessibility
Being a 200 year old property, Old Inn House has some features that might make it unsuitable for people with limited mobility.
All three bedrooms and the only bathroom/toilet are at the top of a flight of 12 stairs.
There is a 2’’ step to the front door, which also has a 1’’ draft excluder strip.
Once inside, there is a 3’’ step between the hall and the foot of the stairs.
The entrance to the kitchen from the foot of the stairs is only 2’ wide.
CAPACITY
We can sleep a maximum of six people (though be aware that we only have one bathroom/loo).
We accept a maximum of two medium sized dogs for a small additional charge
OUR ROOMS
We have two reception rooms and three bedrooms. Two have king size doubles, and the main bedroom has a super king that can be converted into two singles.
`The cottage is very spacious,
plenty of room for
six people but it
still has the atmosphere
of a cottage.
It’s very clean with
everything you need.'
`Perfect location,
lovely well appointed cottage
which exceeded our expectations.
Very spacious and
feels very homely,
very quiet location for
a chilled break in a lovely village
with the perfect Country pub...'
